This book covers Wilhelm and Augusta Stiehl Bahr who came into the United States from Germany and settled in Nebraska. Some of their children went to Montana and married and settled there. Agnes Thompson Clawson was my paternal grandmother. She saved the postcards in this collection, and my brother Arthur Clawson scanned and archived them. He also arranged them chronologically in digital documents and transcribed the handwritten messages on each card. The postcards have interest to the Clawson and Thompson families, but they may be of interest to individuals interested in them as expressions of the dominant American culture of that era.
